Book Summary

Jesus is presented as the King, Israel's long-awaited Messiah as was prophesied in old testament scriptures. Having great authority over sickness and nature itself, the teachings and miracles of Jesus attracts many crowds and followers. As His popularity increases however, the religious leaders grow more and more hostile toward Him. Being grounded in their own traditions and hypocrisy they ultimately reject Him as their Messiah and instead plot to have Him killed. He is eventually betrayed by one of His own disciples and is crucified. As Jesus predicted, He is raised back to life three days later proving that He as King, now has authority even over death itself. In closing, His disciples are given the great commission to spread the good news of salvation to all nations.
